Since 2007, dialogue with several government agencies coupled with sustained community engagement with local leaders, religious heads, men & women, youth, vendors & commercial establishments has ensured the creation of many of the urban facilities that have been created and today, many of these are managed by residents themselves- after receiving required training.
The SDMC has been an active partner in the creation of the Community Toilet Complexes, upgradation and illumination works on the streets of the basti, the waste management programme; the DDA has been working actively with the team in the development of the parks, providing alternate housing to basti residents as part of the rehabilitation of the area around the monuments etc.
The sustained efforts of the team with the government have also led to the creation of the Nizamuddin Heritage Zone and the Indraprastha Archaeological Park.
