Citizens of Delhi

Since 2007, the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative has been working to demonstrate that cultural sites can be a model of urban development. Nizamuddin Area, with its continued history of over 700 years has a wealth of architectural, cultural, musical, and spiritual heritage, which is as yet not known to many people even within Delhi, and the project serves to be model to revive a historic city centre. The recently proposed Indraprastha Archaeological Park, which will be one of the largest archaeological parks in Delhi, covers within it, this grand historic Nizamuddin basti, the World heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb and other adjoining monuments, and the undisturbed green zone of Sundar Nursery – Batashewala Complex stretching upto the Purana Qila.
