Reviving India’s traditional building crafts and techniques

Over 500,000 man-days of work has been carried out directly or indirectly by craftsmen undertaking the conservation works, thus demonstrating the potential for conservation to create employment just as the building of our monuments did several centuries ago. This is in keeping with the belief that, “Conservation should be a medium to support and encourage traditional crafts persons as well as nurture their traditional systems of knowledge.”
